Genomic and transcriptomic data is used by our lab to support breeding and evolutionary studies, for the discovery of genes that regulate complex traits.
We use and develop biotechnology tools such as CRISPR and next-generation DNA sequencing to accelerate breeding and study gene function.
Breeding of conifers and hardwoods is a lengthy, costly and complex process. We apply genomic selection methods to simplify the way we improve tree species.
Many plant traits had a critical role in evolution. These trait can also be important for breeding of better adapted and productive trees. We study these trait to find the genes that control them.
